don’t look at the next pictures.
the other day i watched in sick fascination as deb w. took scissors to her knitting. before you ask, no she was not putting in steeks. nope she just realized that a sleeve was too long and rather than ripping it out she decided that it would an amazing idea to cut the knitting near the her cast on. (to be fair, i think she was pushed in this direction by other knitters)
so here it is…scissors…willy nilly applied to knitting. make the children leave the room, turn back now if the idea makes you queasy.
i think it all worked out…she even has a smile on her face…it’s a little strained, but it’s there.
and for any of you who happen to care. andrea has given us the contract/agreement that we all must sign before we can take the “not so proper” lace class.
click hereto read it and be sure to check out the footnotes that cindy t.o.a. and i added. its fun. cheers—shannon

as i was enjoying my morning coffee and waiting for the computer to complete its ten minute start up process i discovered a fantastic new book. it’s called The Secret Language of Knitters by Mary Beth Temple. we’re not carrying it in the store…yet. debbie picked it up at some boutique in colorado and brought it in the shop where it has been collecting dust ever since, that is until today. finally someone has put all of our knitting terms in one book! from acrylic to yarn pron ms. temple defines them all with a little bit of humor.

for me!
its not even march 15 and i’ve finished the april newsletter. i’m kind of ridiculously pleased with myself, and we all know that will eventually come back to bite me. fortunately for you, you get to reap all the benefits of reading the newsletter with none of the tragic backlash of humble pie that the world will smack me upside the head with.

andrea knit her sister this fabulous sweater that debbie is modeling…..ogle it, its soft and shapely, with bodacious buttons. now tell me honestly, you totally want to be andrea’s sister too. (i mean not just because she knits these sorts of things, she is also super awesome, but seriously look at the sweater)
madame fifi also finished a gorgeous scarf, and she was adventurous enough to model miss patty’s punk inspired felted hat. we like adventurous women here at yarn.
be sure to check your e-mail inboxes and read all about the spinning class we are offering in april. if you didn’t recieve one its probably becuase you haven’t signed up for our e-mail list, why haven’t you done that yet?
for those of you who are courious, or are just devious enough to tease me about it, i’m pretty sure i’ve put at least 6 dollars in the “cuss 4 jesus” fund. lent is only 40 days right? cheers—shannon
