like a paranoid freak, and also because i am well aware of my epic failure to spell, i have checked the spelling of her name like 15 times.
i have several things to report today….first of all the knit one help many webpage has been updated. janet told me today that there is a meeting tuesday at 6 pm. take a look at some of the goodies we are putting in the cancer auction basket this year.
carol p. has been awesome enough to type up the project list for each month of the coming year. click here to learn what we are knitting.
andrea held an excellent goal setting course today, with some of the most inspirational knitters we have at the shop. i found it comforting that no matter how much of a master knitter you are, you can still struggle with those unfinished projects.
speaking of unfinished projects…look i totally finished the dishcloth!!!
and because andrea is the spinach to my inner knitting popeye i have totally smacked the crap out of my bluto…entrelac has no power over me anymore.
i fights to the finish. cheers….shannon

so here they are. my own little mountain of unfinishedness.
it looks a little overwhelming doesn’t it? let me break it down for you.
here is the reversible double knit scarf that i taught a class on. i’m glad that it didn’t need to be finished for me to teach the pattern….this knit out of the cascade eco alpaca, which is literally like knitting with butter. seriously its that soft. this pattern is cool and the yarn is my most favorite, but it’s a little tedious so there it lies.
this is a dishcloth…a dishcloth that i managed to screw up, don’t ask me how, but i have irreparably screwed this one up. it needs to be ripped out and re-knit. (you know, now that i think about it, i think i knit that while i was at bars while on tour…..see what happens when you knit and drink kiddies? you screw up the most basic patterns)
this is a gift. an entrelac hat for my dear friend tobie….she picked out the pattern. i’ve decided it is the new measurement of friendship. i’ve seriously wondered out loud whether or not she is that good of a friend…and yes….she is……but i can honestly say that after coming to that conclusion i kind of wish that i liked her less. i’ve ripped that freakingthing out 5 times and i’ve never once gotten to the hard part. andrea offered to be my “buddy” on this one.
disregard how really nasty that orange-y sock looks, its what my brother gave me to try and match color for a pair of socks that would meet army regulations. what i would like you to focus on is the impossibly large f-ing foot my brother has….there is also a spa sock there that hasn’t ever been made a mate.
this is dad’s sweater vest….or it will be as soon as i re-write that cable pattern. chlc picked up that project and said “its like a crime that this yarn is not being knit” i agree…which is why its now on the blog…so i can be held accountable.
so this was a shell that i started to knit, and i even got pretty far. that is when all of us who were workingon this same pattern noticed that is was a very very very bad idea. i mean look at this thing.
see? i would have had to re-write the whole thing and even then i’m not sure it would have been worth it. please note however that the pink yarn matches my hair perfectly. this whole thingneeds to be ripped out and made into something different.
years ago, my dear friends at yarn gave me an awesome housewarming gift. this is what the afghan looks like today……..yep i didn’t even cast on. dude i’vemoved twice since this “housewarming” gift was given. i am so sorry ladies.
part of my problem is that i like to work up new projects that i think would be good classes to offer. sometimes these ideas are really good, and sometimes these ideas fly like a lead balloon. this particular scarf is knit out of mohair…only mohair. there are 80 billion tiny stitches and i have to knit 3 freaking sections before the scarf is finished……but it will look really cool when its finished.
ahh the infamous sweater….i promised jenifer that i would finish this puppy before september. i’m a little scared, but she is really good at peer pressure so i think i might make the deadline.
there it is…well most of it….my trunk was frozen shut so there is the possibility that more projects are lurking.
my goal is to knit 15 rows on the doubleknit scarf and get half of that dishcloth finished tonight. wish me luck y’all.
cheers…shannon
