The first day of the Kansas State Fair is nice and rainy, but luckily the Domestic Arts building is nice and dry! Make sure to get out this week to visit the award-winning pieces in the various knitting contests.
before the fair could be infested with its first unfortunate tube top, yarn classed up the place with our collective purse creation at the boots and bling benefit. the cow-inspired purse (team-roped and felted by our crew) brought $345 for the fairgrounds foundation!
For the second year, the Twisted Stitches group will take over the fair Tuesday, Sept. 9. Meet at yarn at 6:30. Be sure to wear your yarn t-shirts so we don’t have to stop and explain why we’re so rowdy. (dan doesn’t know it yet, but he has volunteered to bail us out should we be thrown in the clink)
We’ve loved having Jennifer Lippman-Bruno here with us and have attempted to show her a great time. Her classes have been well-received and tonight she’ll have her first Pronto Pup!
In other yarn news, we now have a facebook page! Click here to visit the page. If you’re on facebook, we’d love to have you as a “fan!”
We’re working on updating our web site’s calendar so you’ll have an easy way to see all the great classes we’re offering in the coming months! check back often! (please yell at shannon should she fail to do this in a timely manner)
Peace, love, and funnel cakes,
-Shannon and Sarah G.
